Calling all GP training course organisers:

An invitation to join the Association of Course Organisers (ACO)

Vocational Training for GP is changing . . . . .

“ Course Organisers”  >>> “ Programme Directors” ????

And . . .

  • How do we help Trainers to implement the new RCGP “Curriculum”?
  • Who does what in Workplace-Based Assessment in the nMRCGP? How do we all get trained?
  • How can Course Organisers and Trainers input into the selection procedures?

JOIN THE ACO AND GET INVOLVED!

The Association of Course Organisers: the only national discussion forum and pressure group for VTS Course Organisers!

Members receive “Education for Primary Care”, published bi-monthly by Radcliffe Medical Press, free on-line access to the journal and on joining the ACO, a copy of ‘Educating the Future GP – The Course Organiser’s Handbook’, 2nd edition – by Dr Patrick McEvoy, free!  (A personal subscription to ‘Education for Primary Care’ costs £120 so the £75 membership fee is an excellent deal).

The ACO has a political role with a small ‘p’, which supports the educational needs of vocational training and Course Organisers.  This is achieved through Deanery representation on the ACO Executive Council.  The Executive also represents your interests in terms of remuneration and work conditions as Course Organisers.  We need your input – we need to make our voices heard!

The annual subscription of £75 is due on 1 January and we prefer payment by standing order. An application form and standing order mandate is available to download here.

This is excellent value for money and hope you will wish to join us. If you have any queries about joining please contact the office.
